Youming Chen moves to Hong Kong

After over twelve years based in our Singapore office, we are pleased to announce that Youming Chen has moved to our Hong Kong office from July 2024.

Youming spent twelve years working in various positions at an independent materials testing laboratory providing material assessments and failure analyses for marine, transportation, semiconductor and aerospace industries.  He joined Burgoynes’ Singapore office in 2012 as an Associate and became a Partner in 2023. 

Since joining Burgoynes, Youming has investigated numerous land-based and marine incidents of an engineering nature in Asia, the Middle East and North America. Land-based incidents he has investigated include corrosion, fracture, fatigue cracking, degradation and collapse of metallic and plastic components in numerous industries including power generation, construction, petrochemical, transport and manufacturing. Marine incidents he has investigated include failures of oil hoses, corrosion in cargo and ballast tanks, crane collapse, wire rope fractures, failures of engines and boilers, and fracture and corrosion of propellers, rudders, anchors, and mooring lines.

Youming is fluent in English and Mandarin.
