Burgoynes is pleased to announce that on 1 July 2022 Nick Coogan was promoted to Partner.  Nick is based in our Dubai office and is an experienced fire and explosion investigator of land and marine incidents.  Nick also carries out investigations in other fields, including chemical and contamination incidents, electrical incidents, warehouse racking collapses and escapes of water.

On the same day, David Robbins retired as a Partner in Burgoynes, but he will continue investigating incidents as a Consultant.  David joined Burgoynes in 1990 and he worked initially in the London office before transferring to our Singapore Office in 1996.  Upon his return to the UK in 2000, David founded the Burgoynes’ Cardiff office.  Throughout his 32 years with Burgoynes, David has investigated a wide variety of domestic and international incidents and he is well regarded by clients and colleagues alike for his extensive experience in dealing with the largest of cases both on land and at sea.  In addition to fire-related cases, David’s background in microbiology served him well during many cases involving the spoilage of perishable cargoes.  David also contributed to the management of the company by serving as chairman of the Partnership for a number of years.
