http://www.burgoynes.com/Media/article-images/dpj-presentation.jpgIt has been a busy week at the London International Shipping Week 2019.  On Tuesday 10th September 2019, LOC and Clyde & Co. co-hosted a lunchtime panel debate entitled “Container Ship Casualties, Causes & Consequences - the industry debates”.  Daniel Jackson (pictured centre above), who is a Partner based in our Stevenage office, had the honour to be a panel member.  Simon Pollard (LOC) chaired the session and other panel members were: Jai Sharma (Clyde & Co.); Enam Hussain (the West of England P&I Club); David Tozer; and Capt. Amarinder Singh Brar (LOC).

The event was very well attended and the excellent audience participation led to a very lively and stimulating discussion.  The panel covered a variety of topics including the increasing size of container ships, SOLAS fire regulations, and the potential prevention of misdeclared cargoes.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Daniel and Edward Hammersley attended the 10th Maritime Salvage & Casualty Response Conference in London.   Daniel gave a presentation entitled "The Hidden Hazards - the expert's role in container ship fires".

The two day conference brought together industry professionals, and was a great opportunity to discuss the latest challenges and developments making an impact on the industry, as well as networking with our peers.  Burgoynes was pleased to be a sponsor of the event.
