Experience:

After obtaining his degree from Loughborough University in 2021, Ryan spent two years at Jacobs, working on a range of research and technology projects in the nuclear industry. Projects included failure investigation, fractography and nuclear safety case assessment, but primarily focused on research into the corrosion, mechanical and irradiation properties of zirconium alloys. During this time, Ryan led bespoke testing work, completing the design, implementation and evaluation of testing rigs of various sizes and purposes.

Ryan has experience of carrying out failure investigations in a manufacturing environment, having worked in the materials laboratory of a BMW engine plant for one year as part of his degree. Since joining Burgoynes in January 2024, he has worked on investigations into escapes of water and oil as well as other material failures in both domestic and commercial settings.
