Experience:
After graduating, Richard worked for British Gas in the industrial and commercial sector of the natural gas utilisation industry, providing technical assistance and solutions covering a wide variety of plant and appliances in client processes. One of his major roles involved the application and formulation of equipment safety standards and industry codes of practice. He joined Burgoynes in 1995 and became a Partner in 2005.
Richard predominantly investigates fires and gas and vapour phase explosions. He also has particular experience of carbon monoxide poisonings and chemical engineering process problems. He has investigated more than 1000 incidents, in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, America and Indonesia.
His investigations have culminated in providing expert witness evidence in criminal cases, civil litigation cases and at Coroner's inquests. He has acted as a Single Joint Expert.
