Experience:

Katie completed a Master’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Bath in 2013 before completing her PhD in Chemistry at the University of St Andrews in 2015. While studying for her PhD, Katie focused on the use of metal organic frameworks for olefin and hydrocarbon separations. This involved working alongside industrial chemists in their research and development laboratories, and using international research facilities in the UK and in the USA.

Since completing her studies, Katie worked as a Technical Analyst for Jumpstart, where she project managed claims and used her scientific and technical expertise to educate clients on R&D tax schemes, activities and expenditure. She then worked as a Teaching Fellow at the University of St Andrews, where she coached and mentored undergraduate Chemistry students, as well as writing web content for the University’s digital learning platforms.

Katie joined Burgoynes in 2016 and specialises in the investigation of fire and explosions.
