Experience:
After completing a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, Ian worked as a process engineer in the oil and gas industry. Following his work as a process engineer, Ian pursued a teaching career and he subsequently taught Chemistry and Physics at international schools both in China and in Italy.
Ian joined Burgoynes in 2021 and he specialises in the investigation of fire and explosions. Since joining Burgoynes, Ian has personally investigated and reported on a wide range of fire related incidents across the United Kingdom. These incidents have involved a variety of commercial and domestic premises and also vehicles. As part of these investigations Ian has carried out detailed scene inspections, interviewed witnesses and made enquires with the Police, analysed CCTV footage and carried out laboratory examinations of fire damaged equipment.
