Mark undertook a 4-year apprenticeship as an Electrical Engineer with the
Ministry of Defence, and completed an ONC and HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He then became responsible for the design and integration of electrical equipment for Royal Naval surface ships and submarines (both nuclear and conventional). Mark was also responsible for the support facilities required for nuclear vessels during refit. During this period, he undertook a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Plymouth.
Mark joined Burgoynes in 2002 and became a Partner in 2014. He has investigated over 900 fires, explosions and incidents of electrical failures, both in the UK and overseas. These investigations include incidents that have occurred at commercial and residential properties, factories, production facilities and on-board ships.
