After graduating in 2002, Ed worked at analytical laboratories in Yorkshire and London, specialising in the field of analytical chemistry. He then moved to Kent to work at a large pharmaceutical company, where he spent 8 years supporting pharmaceutical research products with analytical work, before becoming a Senior Scientist within Analytical Research and Development. Ed's specialism was method development and troubleshooting analytical issues, particularly within the fields of mass spectrometry and chromatography, about which he has published articles in the scientific literature.
Ed joined Burgoynes in 2013 and specialises in the investigation of fires and explosions and water escapes. Since joining, he has investigated in excess of 330 incidents involving domestic, commercial and industrial environments, both in the UK and overseas. Ed has given evidence in court as an expert witness, including for a case heard at the Southern District Court of New York.
