BSc Chemistry – University of Bristol


Byron graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006 with a first-class honours degree in Chemistry. He then carried out research and development for an industrial chemical etching firm and spent time teaching and travelling in South America. Byron then worked for Johnson Matthey as a Development Chemist specialising in the processing of precious metals for catalytic applications.

In 2012, Byron joined Bureau Veritas as a Scientific Adviser to the London Fire Brigade. The job included emergency response to hazardous material incidents, delivering training in chemical detection equipment, and assisting the fire brigade with on-scene fire investigations and laboratory examinations of exhibits.

Byron joined Burgoynes in 2014 and specialises in the investigation of fires and explosions.
