Experience:

Before joining Burgoynes, Peter designed and developed specialised electrical machines and became a project manager in the aerospace defence industry. He joined Burgoynes in 1990 and became a Partner in 1998. From 2020 Peter is now a consultant to the partnership.

He has investigated over 1500 fires, explosions, incidents of electrical failure and personal injury cases, including incidents in Europe, the Middle East, Indonesia and China. His engineering investigations have included the failure of electrical equipment in aircraft, ships, power stations, sub-stations and farms, as well as industrial, commercial and domestic premises.

Peter has attended court to give expert testimony in the UK and overseas. He has also given lectures on several aspects of electrical machine design at international conferences in the UK, North America and Germany, and published papers on electrical machine design and control. He has lectured in a number of venues and to a range of audiences on fire investigation and electrical failures, including at Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh Universities and at many technical seminars for the Chartered Insurance Institute.
