Experience:

Oliver graduated from Swansea University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Materials Science and Engineering. As part of his degree Oliver completed an industrial placement at Alstom Switzerland where he performed R&D projects for the application of high temperature alloys and coatings for industrial gas turbines. Oliver was subsequently sponsored by Alstom to undertake a Masters in Research in Steel Technology at Swansea University in which he investigated the suitability of Cr6+ free coatings for use within gas turbines. On completion of his studies Oliver was employed as a Forensic Engineer at RINA Consulting (previously Edif ERA) where he carried out a variety of failure investigations and condition assessments for a number of industries including manufacturing, power generation, transport and infrastructure. During the 2 years he spent at RINA, Oliver was exposed to a range of analytical techniques used in forensic investigations and gained valuable experience in metallurgical and corrosion related failures.

Oliver joined Burgoynes in 2018, specialising in mechanical and materials failures. His investigations include engineering component failures, escapes of water or oil, glass fractures, corrosion and polymer degradation.
