After completing his PhD at the Institute For Materials Research within The University Of Leeds, Kieran spent 2 years working for a manufacturer of automotive suspension springs. Following this he worked for 6 years in a metallurgical consultancy that was focused on, but not limited to, the power generation and petro-chemical industries. He carried out failure analyses of a wide range of metallurgical components including boiler and furnace tubes, pump shafts, impellers, valves, flanges, turbine components, bolts and radiators. He undertook product conformance evaluation on components ranging from architectural cable anchors to military aircraft engine mounts. He has also attended petrochemical sites, conventional coal and HRSG power stations where he has assessed high temperature degradation of plant and equipment.
He joined Burgoynes in 2015.
