Jorge completed a 5-year Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Zaragoza in Spain and a PhD in Tribology at Lulea University of Technology, Sweden, in collaboration with the Institute of Functional Surfaces at Leeds University. His main field of research was the degradation of cobalt-chromium alloys due to the combined effect of wear and corrosion. In 2014 he started working as a researcher at Sintef, Norway, at the Department of Corrosion and Tribology. He worked on various industrial projects focused on the failure analysis of machine components used in the oil and gas, marine and energy industries.
He joined Burgoynes in 2015.
